About this site

Trevor Brown, CFA

This website is an archive of old research. From 2013 to 2018, Trevor Brown was an independent ammonia industry consultant and analyst, and an agitator for the commercialization of sustainable ammonia synthesis technologies. In 2019 he began working as the Executive Director of the Ammonia Energy Association, and this site was no longer updated.

In 2013, he established AmmoniaIndustry.com, a website that provided data, news, and analysis, which initially focused on the capacity expansions taking place in North America and tracked the industry’s transition to sustainable technologies. In 2016, he launched AmmoniaEnergy.org, the global information portal for ammonia as an energy vector.

From 2011 to 2013, he was VP Strategy for a start-up that aimed to develop an electrochemical process for renewable ammonia synthesis. In 2012, he joined the Board of Directors of the NH3 Fuel Association, which promotes the use of carbon-free ammonia in energy applications. In 2016, he launched ammoniaenergy.org, as publisher and co-editor, establishing a global information portal for ammonia as an energy vector.

Previously, Trevor launched US retail operations for the British publisher, Phaidon. Before that, he spent a decade working as a theater producer, presenting award-winning plays and musicals in London and New York. In 2016, the last script he commissioned, Whit Stillman’s adaptation of Jane Austen’s Lady Susan, was released as a film. In 2023, Gutenberg! The Musical!, which he commissioned in 2005 and produced off-West End and off-Broadway, received its Broadway premiere.
