Cronus announces EPC, technology vendors

Maire Tecnimont announced today that it has signed a MOU “which will be converted into an EPC contract,” to build Cronus Chemicals’ ammonia-urea greenfield in Tuscola, IL.

The press release reveals that the project cost has gone up slightly, and the schedule has been pushed back further than previously announced. It also confirms ammonia and urea technology vendors.

Back in July 2014, Tecnimont announced a similar MOU-to-EPC agreement for Fatima Fertilizer’s urea/UAN greenfield in Mt Vernon, IN – since then, I’ve heard nothing. I’ll update this project’s ‘likelihood’ when something more concrete is confirmed (like an actual EPC agreement or, better yet, project financing).

Full information is in my Research Note for Cronus.
